The mission of the International Society for Proteinopathies (ISP) is to
-
promote basic and clinical research, technology development, and translational research for better understanding the molecular pathological processes underlying the protein misfolding diseases;
-
serve as a reliable source of information in diseases with protein misfolding origin;
-
facilitate exchange of ideas and discoveries on protein misfolding in diseases by holding an annual conference and maintaining the Society website;
-
foster interdisciplinary research and collaborations that bridge different science and technology branches on protein misfolding, and its polymerization and/or aggregation;
-
and increase understanding the etiology of protein misfolding, encourage development of new diagnostic, therapeutic and other novel approaches for identification, intervention and treatment of these diseases.
