The mission of the International Society for Proteinopathies (ISP) is to

• promote basic and clinical research, technology development, and translational research for better understanding the molecular pathological processes underlying the protein misfolding diseases;

• serve as a reliable source of information in diseases with protein misfolding origin;

• facilitate exchange of ideas and discoveries on protein misfolding in diseases by holding an annual conference and maintaining the Society website;

• foster interdisciplinary research and collaborations that bridge different science and technology branches on protein misfolding, and its polymerization and/or aggregation;

• and increase understanding the etiology of protein misfolding, encourage development of new diagnostic, therapeutic and other novel approaches for identification, intervention and treatment of these diseases.​
